1996 Ultimate Stats: 1996 was an amazing year. Even though there were 5 less games than last year's record-breaking number, we had almost as many total people show up! There was the June 18 game of 22, and then 20 on September 3. But the most amazing feat this year, for the first time ever, was the perfect attendance record by Bill Anker, "Mr. Enthusiasm". Biller made all 21 games! That smashes the consecutive-game record of 18 by Skip Bunker & Walter Smith in 1986. Due to bad luck, Dusty missed out on this record because on one late day in October, he couldn't find the other players. Even so, by playing 20 out of 21 games in his first year, he also set a major record! Other records: - 46 different people played Ultimate this year, breaking last year's record of 44. - There were 18 new players in 1996, breaking last year's record of 14. - We averaged 13.0 players per game. I bet that's a record, too. - Non-Lucent players comprised 45.2% of the appearances in the 21 games, up from last year's record of 36.6%. Next year, will they (can they?) top 50%? - I'm not sure how to phrase this, but we had a record number of accidents requiring an ambulance: 1. Sorry, David. Players with 10 or more games played: 1. Biller 21 2. Dusty 20 3. Dale 16 4. Roger 14 4. Pete 14 Roger and Pete tied for 3rd last year 6. Craig 13 6. John 13 8. Barb 12 8. Wally 12 10. Joan 11 10. Mike 10 We had only 2 fewer people than last year who played 10+ games, even though we played 5 fewer games than last year. (How is that, again?) Thanks for another memorable season! Stay healthy for next year!
