1999 Year-end Summary

Ultimate Frisbee 1999 was a great year!
Even though it was the 17th season of Ultimate Frisbee, 
we had more players play more games than ever before – by a wide margin!

Below is a summary of records set or tied this year:

- Our 1999 average of 16.7 players per game is *by far* an all time record.
  The previous high was set in 1997, with 14.5 players per game.
- We had the most players ever for a game: 25 played on Aug. 31, at Seabrook beach.
- A record 8 people played 20 or more games.  The previous record was 3!
- We set a record for the earliest season start: April 6.
- We had an record 17 new players this year, beating 1995's record of 14.  Welcome!
- We tied the 1995 and 1998 record of most games in a season: 26.
- We had 50 different players this year, second only to last year's 52.
- We ended the season with a record-smashing attendance of 18.
  The previous record of 13 had been set in 1985, and tied in 1995 and 1997.

Individual honors:
Steven Watson made every game in which he was in the country.
He missed 4 weeks while bumming around Ottawa unemployed,
but still managed to win the attendance championship with 23 games played.
Lucky for him, there was a rainout one week, so he only missed 3 games.
Bill and Jon were just one game behind (see the individual totals below).

We had six streaks of 10 or more consecutive games by players:
Erik: 14 
Steven: 13 and 10
Roger: 10
Tom: 10
Bob: 10			

We don't keep any stats on the play, but it seemed like the quality of the play,			
and the overall teamwork (everyone touching the disc) really improved this year.

so we will have that up and running soon.
